How to check your registration limit

All Named licenses (Network licenses are different and not applicable here. They've been covered in a separate topic [here]) have a registration limit for how many installations - or activations you can perform, before you need to request an increase. It is also commonly known as a registration bump.
This registration limit is a security measure against license abuse and piracy of legitimate licenses.

Before you install a copy of RAD Studio, either on a new machine or a fresh, new virtual machine, both where you are the legitimate owner and user of the license, it is a good idea to check how many registrations you have left before you need to request an increase. Requesting a license increase has been covered [here].

As a side note, changing computer name where you have a copy of RAD Studio installed will trigger a reactivation requirement and thus count against your registration limit. You can read more about it [here].

To check your registration limit, do the following:

  1. Open the RAD Studio IDE and click on Help, then click on License Manager

  4. Go to https://reg.embarcadero.com
  5. Log in with your serial number you used during activation and the registration code you made a note of in step 3. The serial number can also be found in theĀ License Manager
  6. Now, enter your EDN username or email address, depending what you have set up and the associated password
  7. If you have forgotten what your username is, you can look it up in the https://my.embarcadero.com portal
  8. On the main page, click on View extended serial number details

  9. In the new page with extended registration details, look for the row, Current registration count / Maximum

  10. In this case, we would have to request a registration bump if we're going to install a fresh new copy. For guidance to successfully increase your registration limit, please follow this guide [here].
