Restoring Toolbar to default

Commonly when upgrading RAD Studio in-place, changing scaling percentage often or using the IDE over an RDP connection, ever so often it happens the main toolbar changes size and misplaces menu items as shown below.

To reset the toolbar to defaults, do the following:

  1. Make sure any RAD Studio instance is fully closed, including if any lingering bds.exe processes in task manager.
  2. Open registry editor.
  3. Navigate to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Embarcadero\BDS\[Version Number]*
  4. Find the key Toolbar.
  5. Right click on Toolbar and delete the key.
  6. Close the registry editor.
  7. Open RAD Studio again and verify the toolbar as been reset to default position.

[Version Number] refers to the current IDE version tag. For instance, 11.x Alexandria has the 22.0 version number.
